The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works for the Macintosh, versions 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0

Summary:

If the underscore character (_) is typed enough times at the end of a line so that it continues on to the following line, the cursor may appear to jump back and forth on the second line when you continue typing.

In addition, words that follow the underscore character on the second line frequently do not appear on the screen correctly. For example, the word “text” may be jumbled and appear as “e txt” or as something other than what was typed. The word also will not appear correctly in print preview or when printed.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Works versions 1.0, 1.1, and 2.0. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Works version 3.0.
