SUMMARY

In Works Versions 1.x and 2.00, when choosing Options Protect in the Spreadsheet or Database list screen, the entire file is locked. It is possible to lock just certain cells or fields by using the following instructions:

  1. Choose the Options menu. Turn Protect off, if it is on. (If there is a dot next to Protect on the menu, protection is on. Press “P” to turn protection off).
  2. Highlight the cells you want unlocked.
  3. Choose Format Style. Tab to the locked field and press the SPACEBAR until the field is blank. Press ENTER.
  4. Choose Options Protect.

Every cell over which you extended the highlight will be unprotected (unlocked). The rest will be protected (locked).
