File: Changing the Record Number Column Width

Last reviewed: October 27, 1994
Article ID: Q40303

Summary:

In Microsoft File, when a record number is greater than 999 (four-digit record numbers), the fourth digit may be partly truncated. For example, the "4" in record 1004 may be partly cut off.

To change the width of the column displaying the record number, do the following:

  1. From the Form menu, choose Show Form.
  2. Click the line representing the vertical ruler on the left and drag it to the right. The record number column is widened and allows all of the record number to be displayed.
