Running DOS Commands from Within a Word Macro

You can use the Library Run command in a macro to run DOS commands. For example, a macro to list a directory would appear as follows:


Word automatically resumes the macro without displaying the message “Press any key to resume Word.”

If a new DOS shell is invoked by typing COMMAND at the Library Run command, the macro is temporarily suspended. When EXIT is typed to quit the DOS shell, Word automatically resumes the macro where it left off.
