Word Error Message: “Scratch file full”
The size limit for the .TMP file (where Word records your revisions) has been reached. Try each of the following steps in the order given until the message disappears:
- Copy a single character to the scrap with the Copy command.
- Save all documents with the Transfer Save command.
- Save the style sheet, if any, with the Gallery Transfer Save command; then choose Exit to return to the Edit menu.
- Save the glossary, if any, with the Transfer Glossary Save command.
- Choose Transfer Clear All; then, retrieve the document you were working on.
