Eliminating the “X” When Using Speed Formatting Keys

SUMMARY

In Word Versions 4.00 and 5.00, if a space character is used for the keycode of a style sheet entry with a variant of Standard, an “X” is unnecessary when typing a speed-formatting key.

For example, the speed formatting key sequence for bold is ALT+B, not ALT+X+B. This procedure is helpful if you want to create a default style sheet format and still use the speed-formatting keys without having to precede the speed format codes with the letter “X”.
