SUMMARY

If the column markers jump after being moved to a specific location when using the table scale on the ruler to adjust the width of columns for the selected row(s), choose Cells from the Format menu to see what alignment type is selected. If the alignment is centered, the columns will not stay at the position they are left at; they will move to try to keep the table centered.

To adjust the column boundaries to a specific setting, do the following:

  1. Select the whole table or the rows that are to be changed.
  2. From the Format menu, choose Cells.
  3. Select the left-alignment option.
  4. Adjust the table markers on the table scale of the ruler.
