SUMMARY

When you enter “^d” in the “text:” field of the Search command, Word finds manual page breaks (page breaks you have entered) and division breaks. Automatic page breaks (page breaks Word has inserted) are not found.

When you enter “^d” in the “text with:” field of the Replace command, Word automatically inserts a manual page break (not a division break) in place of the text specified in the “text:” field, even if the text specified is a division break.

Word cannot insert division breaks by using the Replace command. If you want to insert a division break, you must enter it manually by pressing CTRL+ENTER.
