SUMMARY

A minimum margin of .5 inch is required for printing to the Apple LaserWriter. This information is incorrectly left out of the table of measurements on page 177 in the “Reference to Microsoft Word” version 4.0 manual.

If you are using label sheets containing 33 labels per sheet when printing labels on a LaserWriter, set the top and bottom margins to 1 inch. The first and last rows of labels will be skipped; these six labels are not usable because of the minimum margin required for the LaserWriter.

If you are using label sheets containing 30 (1-inch or 15/16-inch) labels per sheet, the first and last rows are half-labels. Therefore, you should set the top and bottom margins to .5 inch. You then will be able to use all of the full labels on the sheet.

Also note that for 1.5-inch labels, all margins must also be set to at least .5 inch, not to .25 inch as the documentation incorrectly states.
