SUMMARY
You can compare the value of one field name to another using the IF instruction in Microsoft Word for the Macintosh. To do so, enclose the second field name in chevrons as shown in the following example:
<<IF fieldname1 = "<<fieldname2>>">>
The “<<” is created by pressing OPTION+BACKSLASH (). The “>>” is created by pressing SHIFT+OPTION+BACKSLASH ().
