SUMMARY
Microsoft Word for the Macintosh takes certain default values, or operating parameters, from the System file. If the System file has been localized for a given country, these values reflect that localization.
The default values include the following:
- Date format
- Time format
- Negative sign convention (minus sign vs. parentheses)
- Decimal point character
- Thousands separator
- List separator
- Currency symbol
- Metric/English measurement system
- Keyboard information
