Word 5.00: Annotation Feature

PSS ID Number: Q35838 Article last modified on 11-02-1994

5.00

MS-DOS

SUMMARY

The menu option “annotation” was added in Word 5.00 to the Format menu. Annotations are special footnotes. The Format Annotation command will insert a reference mark in the document and let you type an annotation at the end of the document. Annotations and footnotes will be mixed and printed together on the same page or at the end of the document as specified in Format Division Layout.

The footnote window will also display annotations. Annotations and footnotes will be numbered in the same sequence. The annotation mark will be appended to the automatic number. For example, an annotation inserted next to “CS” and coming after two footnotes will be numbered “3CS.”

Moving, copying, and deleting annotations is the same as with footnotes.

The previously used annotation will be proposed in Format Annotation and will be remembered in MW.INI.
