Article Last Modified on 2/26/2007

APPLIES TO

This article was previously published under Q256497

SYMPTOMS

When you delete a chat community, you may receive the following error message:

Failed to Commit changes

You may notice that channels, bans, and classes are deleted, but the community remains.

CAUSE

This behavior can be caused if multiple instances of Microsoft Management Console (MMC) are being used to administer the chat community. If this is the case, the chat community changes made in one instance of MMC are not refreshed in the others automatically.

RESOLUTION

You must refresh the chat communities in the instance of MMC where the deletion is taking place:

  1. Right-click the Administrative Group (AG) that contains the chat community, and then click Refresh.
  2. Delete the chat community.
