XWEB: OK Button Is Not Available in Create Folder Dialog Box After You Try to Create Folder with a Duplicate Name

SYMPTOMS

When you Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Outlook Web Access (OWA) with Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 to create a subfolder within a your mailbox, if you try to create a folder with the same name as an existing folder, you receive the following error message:

405 Method Not Allowed

After you click OK, you are returned to the Create New Folder dialog box. However, the OK button is no longer available. Therefore, after you give the new folder a different name, you cannot click OK to create the folder.



WORKAROUND

To create a new folder after you receive the error message in the "Symptoms" section, you must:

  1. Click Cancel to close the Create New Folder dialog box.
  2. Right-click the parent folder in which you want to create the new sub-folder.
  3. Click New Folder, and then enter the new folder name. The OK button will be available.



STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
