XADM: Installation of Exchange 2000 Doesn't Work; Error Message: Group Name Could Not Be Found

SYMPTOMS

When you install Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server in a child domain, you may receive the following error message:

'SERVERNAME$' from group 'Domain EXServers' on DC '\\SERVERNAME' Error code 0XC00708AC (2220): The group name could not be found.

This error message occurs when you are attempting to install Exchange 2000 into a domain on which the domainprep command has not been run.

To resolve the issue, at a command-line, run the following command, and then install Exchange 2000 Server:

setup.exe /domainprep
