After you install Windows 2000, or upgrade your Microsoft Windows 98-based computer to Windows 2000, the following events may be listed in the System event log:

Event ID: 19
Source: i8042prt
Description: Could not set the keyboard typematic rate and delay.

Event ID: 20
Source: i8042prt
Description: Could not set the keyboard indicator lights.

Event ID: 32
Source: i8042prt
Description: The keyboard device does not exist or was not detected.

This issue can occur if you have a Universal Serial Bus (USB) device or devices, such as a Microsoft USB keyboard or mouse, attached to an Entrega 3U1E conversion hub.

This behavior is by design.

The Entrega 3U1E conversion hub is not on the Windows 2000 Hardware Compatibility List (HCL), and is only supported in Windows 2000 as a standard USB hub. Any additional ports on the Entrega 3U1E conversion hub, such as "USB to Serial" and "USB to Parallel", require a Windows 2000 driver provided by the hub manufacturer.

These events are informational, and should not impact functionality.
