When you use Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0, you may find that the program stops responding, producing an access violation error message and generating a 'Dr. Watson' log event.
To troubleshoot this behavior, try performing each of the following tasks:
- Clearing the cache
- Changing video drivers
- Viewing the Dr. Watson log to see if it points to a specific problem
- Performing a clean start
- Refreshing Internet Explorer files by using System File Checker
- Performing a Microsoft Windows 2000 repair
Reinstalling Internet Explorer does not resolve this behavior.
