SYMPTOMS
Microsoft Office 2000 Setup recognizes the switch /noreboot and the command-line option NOOLEAUT32CHECK=YES, neither of which are documented as expected, either in the ofreadme.txt file or when Setup is started with the /? switch.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
MORE INFORMATION
The switch /noreboot disables automatic restart after a Windows Installer update, and the command-line option NOOLEAUT32CHECK=YES disables an automatic update for Oleaut32.dll. Neither of these features is documented in Office 2000 online Help, but they are both described at the following Microsoft Web site:
NOOLEAUT32CHECK cannot be used as a second command-line option. If it is used with the value 0 or FALSE, or with no value at all, no prompt is displayed regarding an update for Oleaut32.dll.
