When you view Russian Web pages using a computer running MacOS 9, Internet Explorer does not display the character set properly, even though you installed the Cyrillic language kit, you set the Web page encoding to Cyrillic, and you selected the proper fonts in Internet Explorer preferences.

This issue can occur if you enable the Allow page to specify fonts setting.

To resolve this issue, use the following steps:

  1. On the Edit menu, click Preferences (or click Preferences on the toolbar).
  2. Under Web Browser, click Web Content.
  3. Click to clear the Allow page to specify fonts, check box, and then click OK.
