SUMMARY

With the Even/Odd Headers option selected in the Document dialog box in Microsoft Word version 4.00 (or with the Facing Pages option selected in the Page Setup dialog box in Word versions 3.0x), there are separate even and odd headers for each section in the current document.

In this situation, clicking the Same As Previous button in the header or footer window replaces the even header/footer text with the current section’s odd header/footer text. It does not replace the even header/footer with the previous section’s even header/footer.

Because no Same as Previous button appears in the header or footer in Page View in Word 4.00, the contents of the header or footer window must be deleted to have the same effect as the Same As Previous option. The next time the header/footer is opened, or if Page View is exited and reopened, or scrolled down and back, the header/footer from the previous section will appear.
