SYMPTOMS
In a Visio 5.0 drawing, when you select a metafile that was created in a Visio 5.0 program, and then point to Grouping on the Shape menu, and click Ungroup to ungroup it, you may receive one of the following error messages:

RESOLUTION
To correct this problem, install Service Release C for your version of Visio 5.0. The following files are available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:
Vis5X25C.EXE (for the U.S. version of Visio 5.0)
IE5X25C.exe (for the International English version of Visio 5.0)
