SUMMARY
The following correction and addendum apply to Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 Release Notes:
Correction Concerning Disabling of Socket Spooling
In IIS 5.0 Release Notes, in the Security section under Socket Spooling Performance and Security Issues, please make the following change in the statement on disabling socket pooling:
Replace C:\Inetpub\Adminscripts\Cscript\Adsutil.vbs
with C:\Inetpub\Adminscripts\Adsutil.vbs
Addendum Concerning Changes in User Account for Anonymous Authentication
IIS 5.0 restricts changing the Windows 2000 user account used for anonymous authentication if that change is made below the service level and the account contains IUSR_. This restriction is to ensure proper functioning of the IUSR_computername account.
The IUSR_computername account should not be altered in any way. If you require multiple anonymous authentication accounts, create new accounts that do not contain IUSR, assign to them the Log On Locally user right, and add them to the Guest user group.
