When you unsuccessfully attempt to log on by using invalid credentials with the Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) method, such as EAP/Transport Layer Security (EAP/TLS) (smart card or certificate-based authentication), the account lockout is not invoked and you are not locked out.

MORE INFORMATION

The account is typically locked out for other types of connections, when it is set up to do so, after there are multiple logon attempts using invalid credentials.
