File or Folder Search Displays Files with Incorrect Dates |

SYMPTOMS
When you use the Search tool to find a file that is dated earlier than 1/1/1980 and you specify to search between two dates that fall before 1/1/1980, the search results display all the files that meet your search criteria, with the date ignored. This includes the files that have dates earlier than 1/1/1980.
CAUSE
The Search tool does not recognize dates before 1/1/1980 for date search criteria.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use dates that occur after 1/1/1980 when specifying date search criteria in the Search tool.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
