OL2000: Switching from Corporate or Workgroup to Internet Mail Only Mode Causes Outlook to Stop Responding

Article ID: 253397

Article Last Modified on 5/20/2003

  • Microsoft Outlook 2000 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q253397

When you run Outlook on Microsoft Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services, and you switch from Corporate or Workgroup (CW) mode to Internet Mail Only (IMO) mode, Outlook stops responding when another user logs on through Terminal Services.

The Reconfigure Mail Support button is not disabled.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

If one person changes the configuration of Outlook on Windows 2000 Server with Terminal Services, the change is made for all users of that server. You cannot have mixed Internet Mail Only (IMO) and Corporate or Workgroup (CW) configurations of Outlook on the same terminal server.
