Entering Fractional Dimensions in a Command

PSS ID Number: Q25207 Article last modified on 11-02-1994

3.x

MS-DOS

Problem:

When I enter the Format Division Margins command or the Format Paragraph command and type in a fractional dimension (e.g. “1.2”), I get the message “Not a valid number.”

Response:

If you have the “decimal character” field in the options command set at a comma (,) instead of a period (.), you need to type in “1,2”, not “1.2”. You must either type in your number using a comma, or change the decimal character field in the options command to a period.
