When you start Microsoft Publisher 2000, you may receive the following error message:
If you then attempt to print from Publisher 2000, you experience one of the following symptoms:
- The HP LaserJet 4050 printer is not available on the Printer menu.
- When you click HP LaserJet 4050 on the Printer menu, you receive the same error message mentioned earlier in this article.
This behavior can occur if you use version 126.96.36.199 of the HP Installer to install the driver for the HP LaserJet 4050 printer.
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.
Use the installer provided with the printer to install the PostScript version of the driver for the HP LaserJet 4050 printer.
Download the latest version of the printer driver for the HP LaserJet 4050 printer from the following Hewlett-Packard Web site
and then use the Add Printer wizard in Microsoft Windows to install the updated printer driver.
