SYMPTOMS

When you are using the IBM ViaVoice 98 Executive program on a Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional-based computer and the program is reading back the text from a document, you see a black square in the upper right corner of the monitor, instead of the expected picture of the character who is reading the text. This occurs when you open the IBM Voice Pad and the attached file, place the cursor at the beginning of the document, and then select the Begin Reading option.

Also, when you select a different character from the Actor Gallery option on the IBM Text To Speech toolbar while the program is reading back the text, the new character appears black.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional.
