SYMPTOMS
Using Microsoft Word as your e-mail editor, if you compose a message in either HTML or Plain Text format, and switch to Outlook to compose another message before sending the first message, both messages will appear behind the Outlook window.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.

This behavior will also occur if you start Word first, start Outlook, and then compose several messages as described in the "Symptoms" section.
This behavior does not occur if the Outlook Rich Text message format is used.
