To use the Microsoft IntelliPoint 4.0 and Microsoft IntelliPoint 4.1 software and the Microsoft USB Mouse devices you must have:

  • Microsoft Windows-based computer:
    • Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 6 (SP-6) or later, Windows 2000 Professional or Microsoft Windows XP operating system
    • 25 megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space
    • PS/2 compatible mouse port or a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port.


Note Windows NT does not have USB support.

    • CD-ROM drive.
  • Internet Explorer 4.01 Service Pack (SP-2) or later
  • For Macintosh computers:
    • Macintosh OS System 8.6 or Macintosh OS System 9.x, and Macintosh OS System 10.1 (except Macintosh OS System 10.0)
    • 15 MB of storage space
    • USB port
    • CD-ROM Drive

To use the IntelliMouse Explorer and IntelliMouse with IntelliEye, you must have:

Microsoft Windows-based computer:

  • Microsoft Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98 operating system or Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3 (SP-3) or later operating system*
  • 29 megabytes (MB) of available hard disk space
  • A PS/2 compatible mouse port or a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port**
  • A CD-ROM drive
  • The IntelliPoint 3.0 software is not compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000. An updated version of the software will be made available from the following Microsoft Web site when Windows 2000 is released:
    • Connection to the USB port on a Windows-based computer requires that you use Windows 98 as the operating system on your computer.


Macintosh computer:

  • Macintosh OS System 8.5.1 or a later version operating system; IMac also requires IMac update version 1.1
  • 15 MB of available hard disk space
  • A USB port*
  • The IntelliMouse Explorer and IntelliMouse with IntelliEye do not support a connection to a serial (COM) port.


Note MAC OS X is not supported at this time.
