In the Office programs listed at the beginning of this article, the E-mail button may be missing from the Standard toolbar although it was available previously.
This happens if your default e-mail program is changed to an e-mail client that cannot automatically send the current document as the body of an e-mail message.
To resolve this problem, choose a different default e-mail program, using the following steps:
- Open Internet Explorer 5.
- Click Internet Options on the Tools menu.
- On the Programs tab, click the arrow next to E-mail.
- Select a different e-mail program.
The E-mail button on the Standard toolbar of some Microsoft Office applications sends the current document as the body of an e-mail message:
In Microsoft Word, sends the contents of the document as the body of the e-mail message. In Microsoft PowerPoint, sends the current slide as the body of the e-mail message. In Microsoft Excel, sends the contents of the current worksheet as the body of the e-mail message.
For more information about how various e-mail programs work with Microsoft Office, in one of the Office programs listed at the beginning of this article, click Microsoft <program> Help on the Help menu, type e-mail programs in the Office Assistant or the Answer Wizard, and then click Search to view the topics.
