When you attempt to open a Windows Metafile (WMF) graphic in Microsoft Picture It! 2000, you may receive one of the following error messages:

  • Picture It! can not load the preview picture.

  • Cannot open picture filename.

Picture It! cannot open this file. Your system may be low on memory or out of disk space. Please try closing other programs or freeing up disk space, and try again.

This behavior can occur if the Windows Metafile graphic is included in the "Holy Cow!! 250,000 Graphics" clipart collection.

To work around this issue:

  1. Open the Windows Metafile graphic in another program, such as Microsoft PowerPoint 2000 or Microsoft Word 2000.
  2. Copy the graphic from that program.
  3. Paste the graphic into Picture It! 2000.
