When you click Save As on the File menu to save your workbook in a different file format, you receive a message similar to the following
file format is the current format of the file. However,
file format is not the default file format specified by your system administrator. If you click Use recommended format, Excel saves your workbook in the file format named in the message, rather than the default file format.
This problem occurs when all of the following conditions are true:
- Your system administrator has established a system policy that sets the Save Excel files as setting on the Transition tab of the Options dialog box to a file format other than Microsoft Excel Workbook.
- You are saving a workbook that has already been saved in a non-default file format.
- You save your workbook in the Microsoft Excel Workbook file format.
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).
