SYMPTOMS

When you try to use the OPTi 82c93x audio driver for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Workstation in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional or Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. You are not able to install the OPTi 82c931 audio device.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because OPTi, Inc. does not make audio drivers for use with Windows 2000.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional and Windows 2000 Server.
