When you install the Outlook View Control (either as a stand-alone installation or in conjunction with the installation of the Digital Dashboard Starter Kit or Team Folders Wizard), an Outlook installation that uses Exchange Client Extensions causes access violations when the Outlook View Control is accessed through its user interface (UI).
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
Exchange Client Extensions is an extensibility mechanism that allows a third-party to extend Outlook's functionality or user interface. The access violation typically occurs when your right-click or left-click your mouse in the Outlook View Control and the Exchange Client Extension is simultaneously trying to hook into the click event.
