There is no indication or sign that your health is restored when you win a battle. The only indirect indication is when you are attacked later in the game--if your health has been restored the screen will flash green.
SUMMARY
Each time you face a new challenge that the Mutant throws at you, your health will be drained. There is no indication of your condition during the battle. If you defeat the villain, your health is restored to "full" for the next battle. If you lose the battle, the game will take you back to the Options menu where you can choose to resume your game or start over.
