The information in this article applies to:

SYMPTOMS
When you click Properties in the Game Controller tool in Control Panel, you receive the following error message even though the gaming device is connected properly and "OK" is displayed in the Game Controller Status column:
Game Device Error: Your gaming device is not connected correctly. Ensure that it is plugged into your computer.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if another force feedback enabled program is already running on the computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, quit all force feedback enabled programs before you click Properties in the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel.
