APPLIES TO

This article was previously published under Q174976

SYMPTOMS

When you use NetMeeting for Windows NT to join an existing conference between eight or more participants who are also using NetMeeting for Windows NT, the Send File command may be unavailable, and you may be unable to send and receive files.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the latest version of NetMeeting.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft product listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are the ninth person who is using NetMeeting for Windows NT when you join a conference, and you attempt to use the Send File command by either right-clicking a participant's name in the Current Call window, or by pointing to File Transfer on the Tools menu, the Send File command is unavailable.

If you drag a file into the Current Call window to send the file to all participants, you receive the following message:

To send a file, you must be in a meeting with another person.

Even though you receive this message, the first eight participants who are using NetMeeting for Windows NT receive the file. Anyone who joins the conference after you using NetMeeting for Windows NT does not receive the file.
