SYMPTOMS
When attempting to install the Trial version of Money 98 available on the Internet, you receive the following message:
You must install Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02a, including the ActiveMovie and HTML layout components, before installing Money 98.
When you click OK, you receive the following message:
Microsoft Money 98 Trial Version Setup was not completed successfully.
CAUSE
Money requires components of Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 build 1310.2. This is available at:
http://mssecure.www.conxion.com/cgi-bin/ieitar.pl.
RESOLUTION
Install Internet Explorer 3.02 build 1310.2.
For NT 4.0 Users
Currently, there is no site to download a Windows NT 4.0 specific version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. However, Windows NT users can download the Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 for Windows 95/128 bit SSL Browser Only version from the Trial download site.
Even though this version says that it is for Windows 95, it will write key files required by Money, and also work on Windows NT. It will not install the high-encryption files to an NT computers. High-encryption for Windows NT is obtained through Windows NT Service Pack 3.
MORE INFORMATION
The required version of Microsoft Internet Explorer 3.02 is not for export outside the United States and Canada. The U.S. Trial version of Money is not intended for use outside the United States.
