Game Controllers Remove Button Seems to Remain Active
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft SideWinder Game Device software version 2.0
The Remove button in the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel may seem to remain active after the last gaming device is removed.
This problem occurs only if you click Remove to remove the last gaming device from the Game Controllers box.
To work around this problem, press ALT+R to remove the last gaming device from the Game Controllers box. When you are prompted to confirm the removal of the device, click Yes.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SideWinder Game Device software, version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
This problem does not have any apparent harmful effects. Although the Remove button seems to remain active, the button text is dimmed and the button is unavailable.
