Clicking Status Header Lists Gaming Devices in Random Order |

SYMPTOMS
If you click the Controller column header in the Game Controllers box on the General tab in the Game Controllers tool in Control Panel, the list of installed gaming devices is sorted alphabetically in ascending or descending order. If you click the Status column header, the list is rearranged into a random order.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SideWinder Game Device software version 2.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

The Game Controllers tool in Control Panel contains a list of the gaming devices that are installed on your computer. If you click the Controller column header, the list is sorted alphabetically in ascending order. If you click the Controller column header again, the list is sorted alphabetically in descending order.
