When you drag an encrypted message from your Microsoft Outlook 97 Inbox to the Windows desktop, there is no request for a password.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

Although a password is not requested when you move the message, if you attempt to open it, its integrity is retained and you must type the correct password to complete the process.
