When you use Windows Explorer to browse a NetWare server from a computer running Windows NT, the name of any printer queue that contains a period is truncated. Neither the period nor any characters to the right of the period appear.
Windows NT incorrectly calculates the buffer used to store the printer name.
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

You create a printer queue on a NetWare Server named "HP4SI.2ndfloor". When you view it in Windows Explorer, you see "HP4SI".
