If you install a custom add-in, and then start Microsoft Excel, the following error message appears.

If you click Details, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

This problem occurs when you do the following:
- You install a custom add-in that updates toolbars.
- You open Excel without opening any workbooks.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
