SYMPTOMS
When you paste information in Microsoft Excel 97, you may receive one of the following error messages.
Microsoft Windows 95
If you click Details, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Microsoft Windows NT
Microsoft Windows 2000
When you click OK, Excel quits.
CAUSE
This problem may occur when you do the following:
- You select the two cells that are being used as row input cell and column input cell in a two-variable data table and click Cut on the Edit menu. -and-
- You paste the cut cells into a different worksheet.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows. This problem no longer occurs in Microsoft Excel 2000.
MORE INFORMATION
The row and column input cell must refer to a cell on the active worksheet outside of the table range.
