SYMPTOMS
If a user is going using Internet Explorer to go through Proxy Server, he or she receives an Access Denied message. On other Web browsers, the user is prompted to log on but the logon process eventually fails.
CAUSE
The user does not have Execute permissions to the scripts directory at the Windows NT file system (NTFS) level or on the virtual directory Scripts. The Scripts directory contains a filter dll that you need to execute.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem:
- Examine the access on the Scripts virtual directory in the WWW service in Internet Service Manager and make sure Execute is selected.
- Give the user Read and Execute permissions at the NTFS level on the physical scripts directory. If using anonymous authentication, make sure the IUSR_machinename account has Read and Execute permissions to the physical scripts directory.
