SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print a presentation based on the Fireball template to certain printers, such as the Canon LBP430, you receive one of the following errors:

Page Error: Page 1 - Not enough printer memory; unable to print page.

-or-

There was an error writing to LPT1: for the printer Canon LBP-430: There was a problem sending your document to the printer. Make sure the printer cable is connected and that the printer is online. To continue printing, click retry. Windows will automatically retry after 5 seconds.

CAUSE

The Fireball template contains complex objects which some printers do not have the memory or resources to process.

RESOLUTION

To print the presentation, click to select the Black and White check box in the Print dialog box (click Print on the File menu). This option optimizes the look of color slides for printing on a black and white printer.

You may also want to consider changing the template to a less complex template.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
