The information in this article applies to:

• Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 for Windows 95
• Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 for Windows NT 4.0

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to enable Shell Integration mode for Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0, the following error message may occur:

   Not able to turn on Shell Integration mode.
   The information needed to complete the operation was not found.

CAUSE

This error message can occur if there is not enough free disk space.

RESOLUTION

To enable Shell Integration mode, free at least 8 MB of disk space and try the operation again.
