When you delete an instance of a recurring meeting series in Microsoft Outlook 97, subsequent updates to the series generate duplicate messages.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 97 for Windows. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Outlook 97 version 8.02 for Windows

Steps to Reproduce the Problem

  1. Create a daily recurring meeting series of one week's duration.
  2. Delete one instance from the series and send out a cancellation message.
  3. Change the location of the series and send out a notificaion message.

RESULTS: One update message and two cancellation messages will be in your Sent Items Folder.
