In Microsoft Excel 97, when you scroll in a chart that contains text boxes, you may notice that the scrolling is slow and that the screen may redraw occasionally. After the screen redraws, you may notice that some of the text boxes are missing.

To get all of the text boxes on the chart to reappear, cancel the selection of the chart, and then select it again. To cancel the selection, click once outside of the chart onto the worksheet, and to select the chart again, click once on the chart.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

For more information about adding a text box to a chart, click the Index tab in Microsoft Excel 97 Help, type the following text

text boxes, charts

and then double-click the selected text to go to the "Add a text box to a chart" topic.
